Plan Tribute to Dwayne 'Baritone' Francis, Director of Marketing/Entertainment, after his passing.

January 17, 2012 - The Jersey Express return home on Saturday 1/21 @ 7pm, after road win over Staten Island 133-123!   Dickerson High School, 2 Palisades Avenue, Jersey City, NJ will be the host for Saturday's game, as the Vipers travel to NJ.  Standing at 7-4, the Express begin its run to the playoffs!

 

The Express plan a special tribute to Dwayne 'Baritone' Francisis (Director of Marketing/Entertainment), after his passing on Saturday!  We'll post all words of trubute to Baritone on our Social Media Pages on Twitter and Facebook.

 

Saturdays game will feature a special performance by recording artist PAPA LOCK! 

 

This game will be dedicated to Baritone, and the kids in the community.  The Jersey Express are bringing exciting, fun-filled, family entertainment to the community, at an affordable price.

Ray Ortiz, Jersey City’s Own – Interim Head Coach

 

On Sunday, January 15th at 2pm the Jersey Express will host the Connecticut Top Ballerz at Dickerson High School, located at 2 Palisades Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, in a rematch of division leaders.  Assistant Coach Ray Ortiz, will act as Head Coach for the weekend games, beginning with a contest on Saturday against the Staten Island Vipers..

 

The Express fell to Connecticut 109-104 when they last met, and look to avenge the home loss. 

 

‘We’re ecstatic to be playing at Dickerson High School!  The goal since the start of the season has been to partner, and connect with the community, which includes having direct access to the students within the Jersey City Public Schools System.  This way we can help have a positive impact on them, in any way we can.  We’ll have special events at the games for the schools involved, and for students that excel, not only in sports, but academically. 

 

We strive to become a part of the community in which we play, and thank Interim Superintendent Franklin Walker for his assistance.  I think we share the common goal of providing healthy, safe activities, and entertainment for the youth.  The Jersey Express do just that, while making it affordable for families to attend the games; stated team owner Marsha Blount.

 

Assistant Coach Ray Ortiz stated ‘I am excited, humbled and grateful for the opportunity to coach the Jersey Express Basketball Team this weekend.  Basketball has been a major part of my life and I hope to bring excitement and a winning weekend to Jersey City’s own.

 

The Express return to action at Dickerson High School, 2 Palisades Avenue, Jersey City, NJ on Sunday @ 2pm, and take on the Connecticut Top Ballerz.  They’re offering FREE admission to ALL Jersey City Public School Students, accompanied by an adult with paid admission, for the entire season. 

 

Individual game tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for kids.  The Jersey Express offer parents the opportunity to have your child’s birthday party at an Express game.  Party package includes admission, meal, and halftime participation by group.  Forward an e-mail with game date to info@jerseyexpress.net.

Jersey Express Face Hudson Valley Hype Saturday @ 7pm

 January 4, 2012 – The Express return to action at the Jersey City  Armory on Saturday, January 7 against the Hudson Valley Hype at  7:30 pm, this will be the only meeting between the teams this season.   The Express, who currently stand at 6-4, look to begin new streak for 2012.

 

The Express are led by Dexter Gray, Darnell Braswell, and Sedale Walton, who are all averaging over 20ppg.  Hudson Valley will feature last seasons ABA All Star Game MVP, and former Express Forward Kayode Ayeni.

 

The Express are offering FREE admission to ALL Jersey City Public School Students, accompanied by an adult with paid admission, for the entire season.  The Express continue to solidify their goal of being an intricate part of the community in which they play.

 

Assistant Coach Ray Ortiz, Jersey City Resident his entire life, thinks the community needs to experience the excitement for themselves.  He feels that if we can get them in the door, they will enjoy, and appreciate the talent, and potential of what’s happening in Jersey City!

 

Saturday’s game will feature a special halftime performance by Simplicity.

Take on Hudson Valley on Saturday

Collaborate with the Newark YMCA Jr. Slam Basketball Clinic Saturday at noon

 

On Friday, December 30, the Jersey Express (6-4) fell to Connecticut Top Ballerz, 109-104. Dexter Gray led the Express with 19 points, while Zahir Carrington and Prentice Small chipped in 18 apiece. Connecticut’s Kelvin Davis was the game’s leading scorer with 30 points.

 

Jersey was without point guard Sedale Walton, who is averaging 20.0 points per game.

 

The Express return to action at the Jersey City Armory on Saturday, January 7 against the Hudson Valley Hype at 7:30 pm, this will be the only meeting between the teams this season.   At noon Saturday, the Express; thru its collaboration with the Newark YMCA’s Jr. Slam Basketball League, will participate in its 1st clinic of the season, for boys and girls.

 

The Express are offering FREE admission to ALL Jersey City Public School Students, accompanied by an adult with paid admission, for the entire season.  The Express continue to solidify their goal of being an intricate part of the community in which they play.
